A new cultural-educational foundation, Yayasan Kepustakaan Maharsi Markendeya, has officially launched with a mission to revive, preserve, and disseminate the spiritual heritage of the ancient sage Maharshi Markandeya, a revered Vedic rishi known for bringing Hinduism to Bali. The foundation is based in Bali and aims to bridge ancient Indian and Indonesian wisdom for the well-being of future generations.

The name reflects its purpose:

Yayasan (foundation), Kepustakaan (library or body of literature), and Maharsi Markendeya—the sage whose legacy continues to influence Balinese Hindu culture and dharmic values to this day.

A Mission Rooted in Dharma, Education, and Unity

Guided by the motto “Jnana • Dharma • Karuna” (Wisdom • Righteousness • Compassion), the foundation seeks to:
“We believe this work is not only about preserving the past—it’s about building a more spiritually aware and culturally connected future,” said [Insert Founder/Spokesperson’s Name], a representative of the founding team.
A Bridge Between Generations and Civilization

Through a structure involving trustees, scholars, youth volunteers, and international cultural ambassadors, the foundation plans to grow a network of service, study, and storytelling.
Its flagship goals include launching monthly journals on Dharma and Ayurveda, conducting workshops for youth, preserving endangered oral traditions, and promoting sustainable community development grounded in spiritual ecology.
